Lecture de la fenêtre d'état du joueur
Ouvrez l'écran d'état du lecteur sur Android, Windows et LG webOS , lisez les informations qu'il affiche concernant votre écran et sachez ce que vous devez nous envoyer.
Every player keeps its own account of what it is doing. On a misbehaving screen it beats anything the Displays grid can tell you: whether easyCMS recognises the screen, whether the player is licensed, how the last conversation went and what it has given up on.
Opening it at the screen
| Plate-forme | How to open the status window |
|---|---|
| Windows | Press i on a keyboard connected to the player |
| Android, R206 and later | Press i on a connected keyboard |
| Android, older builds | Connect a mouse, click the screen to bring back the Action bar, then choose Status |
| LG webOS | Press the yellow button on the remote, then choose Status from the Action bar |
The status window, as it appears on the screen itself.
The Action bar hides itself and returns at a touch or a cursor movement. On some remotes OK opens it instead of the yellow button, so try both. If i does nothing on a Windows player, the key may have been reassigned in a settings profile your login cannot open. Tell us rather than hunting for it.
What it is telling you
Registered. Whether easyCMS recognises this screen. A player that registered but was never connected sits inert: it downloads nothing and receives no schedule, and recent webOS builds say so in the log messages. Connect it at Add a display.
Licensed. Shown as true (trial), true (FULL) or false. An unlicensed player stops downloading new content rather than going dark, so a screen can look alive and still be a month out of date. Windows players are free; Android and LG webOS carry a per-display licence that re-verifies every 30 days (Player Licence Errors).
CMS Status. The result of the player’s last conversation with easyCMS. Three messages are exchanged every collection interval, five minutes by default, and none should carry an error. Required Files is your download progress: a layout that never appears is often a file still arriving. For the time of the last check-in, read last accessed on the Displays page.
Schedule Status. Layout IDs grouped as all, scheduled, valid and invalid. A layout that is scheduled but not valid is being rejected, not ignored, see Scheduled Content Is Not Playing.
Log Messages. The last five entries the player recorded, usually the plainest statement of the real fault you will find anywhere.
Telling one screen from another
The status window should also show the Display ID easyCMS knows the screen by. At Add a display, when more than one new screen is listed and only then, each row shows the last four characters of its Display ID to match against the player. On Windows that ID lives in the separate Player Options application. If you cannot find it, connect your screens one at a time instead.
Reading it from your desk instead
If the screen is still checking in, you do not need to walk to it.
- Ouvrir Écrans .
- Open the screen’s row menu and choose Request Screenshot.
- Tick Screenshot in the Columns dropdown.
- Click the thumbnail that appears.
- Click the
iicon in its top right corner. - Scroll down to Player Status.
A screen that has stopped checking in cannot answer a request, so that one has to be read at the device.
The Faultlist
What used to be called the blacklist is now the Faultlist: media the player downloaded successfully but could not play, listed by media ID and format. It is nearly always a video the hardware cannot decode, see Videos Will Not Play or Stutter. Any layout using that file becomes invalid and drops out of the schedule quietly.
Faultlisted entries appear on the status screen on every platform except Windows, where they are not shown, and we know of no way to clear the list from easyCMS. Entries stay listed until the player restarts and go straight back on if the file is still unplayable, so replace or re-encode the file rather than restarting and hoping.
Watch out Never stop a player and delete files from its library folder by hand. To make a player discard its local copies, open Displays, the row menu, Edit, the Advanced tab, tick Clear Cached Data, then Save.
When the five messages are not enough
Those five entries are the part you can read without help. Underneath them the player keeps a fuller log locally and sends it to easyCMS at the next regular interval. Raising the logging level happens in an administrator area your login does not have. Ask on the support request form: we will raise the level, wait for the fault to recur and pull the log for you.
What to send us
Send us five things:
- A legible photo of the status window.
- The display name, exactly as it appears in easyCMS.
- The platform: Android, Windows or LG webOS.
- The player version. On Android it is under About in the three-dot menu on the Action bar.
- What changed around the time it broke.
Getting Help and Support Options lists where to send it.
