Window Wall: an Exchange Rate Board for the Shop Window
The board people read from the street before they decide to come in: portrait, large rows, buy and sell for every currency you exchange.
What it shows
- Your logo and a title at the top, with the time and the date
- One row per currency: flag, code (100 JPY for low-value currencies), name, We buy, We sell
- A footer line for your commission and licence number, and the date of the rates
- More currencies than fit? It pages through them on its own, with a dot for each page
The rows grow as tall as the screen allows, so a short list reads from further away. The numbers never get so big that they overflow their column.
Where it goes
A portrait screen standing just behind the window glass, facing the street. Daylight is the problem, not the board: a standard TV disappears behind a sunny window, so use a high-brightness panel (signage panels for windows run from about 1,500 to 5,000 nits) and check it at midday. 43 to 55 inches suits most shop windows.
What you can change
- The title, your logo and the footer line
- The colours: dark navy and gold by default, or any palette, with a background photo if you like
- Which currencies it shows: all of them, or the eight that matter on the street
- The language of the labels (14 to choose from), and a second language that takes turns with the first
Works well with
The counter grid inside the office, reading the same rates, and the rates ticker above the door.
