An ice cream shop’s board is not a list of prices: every flavour costs the same, so customers need to see the flavours, and the price of one, two or three scoops, once. The flavours change all day: a tub runs out at four, a new one comes out of the lab, the mango sorbet is only there in summer. A printed board can’t keep up and a menu video has to be ordered again, but with easyCMS you take a flavour off or put one on from your phone, and the wall follows.
Every picture on this page is a real screenshot of an easyCMS template, playing a sample ice cream menu.
Ready-made sets
The Ice cream counter set is two screens: the flavour wall and today’s flavour. Ice cream parlour is three: flavours, sundaes and toppings.
Boards that follow the weather
Ice cream sells with the weather, and so can your boards: any design can play only when it is warmer than a temperature you choose, only when the sky is clear, or only when it rains. Play the sundae offer above 25 °C and the hot chocolate and waffles when it rains, and the screen switches by itself. The player checks the weather at the location you give the screen in Studio.
Running the wall from your phone
Every board reads one menu, kept in Studio under Menu & prices.
Scoops
1, 2 and 3 scoops, a cup and a cone, or 100 g and 200 g: set the sizes on each flavour and the wall shows the shared prices once.
Sold out
One tap when a tub is empty, one tap when the new one is out.
Seasonal flavours
Leave the summer flavours in the menu marked sold out until they are back, or remove them for the winter. Nothing has to be typed again.
Labels
Vegan, gluten free, new and house special, as small symbols under the name.
Allergens
The 14 allergens of EU law stored with each flavour: milk, eggs and nuts are the ones customers ask about. They are not printed on the board.
Import
Take a photo of your current board, or upload a PDF or Excel file, under Import. Studio reads the flavours and prices and shows them to you to check.
What you need in the shop
Screens. 43 to 55 inches above the counter, or a portrait screen beside the freezer. In a sunny window you need a high-brightness screen: a normal one is hard to read in summer daylight. A shop that closes for the winter can unplug the screens; the menu is still there in spring.
Each screen also needs something to play on:
The easyCMS Android player
The easyCMS Android player, 499€, arrives ready to plug in, with a display licence included.
An Android box you already have
An Android box or Android TV: type myeasycms.com/apk in its browser to install the player (how).
A Windows PC
A Windows PC connected to the screen runs the easyCMS player, and the player itself is free.
A Samsung or LG professional screen
Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) professional screens run the player themselves, with no box at all.
What it costs
| Line | Cost |
|---|---|
| easyCMS account, up to 5 screens, includes 1 licence | 49€ once |
| 1 × extra licence at 66€, in the same order | 66€ once |
| Two screens: the flavour wall and the sundaes | 115€ once |
Licences are 66€ each in the same order as the account, 99€ each added later. The templates, the menu, the weather rules and the import are included. Nothing is paid in the months the shop is closed.
| Year 1 | After 5 years | |
|---|---|---|
| easyCMS, 2 screens | 115€ | 115€ |
| A signage subscription at 10 USD per screen per month | 240 USD | 1,200 USD |
10 USD a month is about the middle of the per-screen prices in our Digital Signage Pricing Index, checked in October 2026. A seasonal shop pays a subscription all year, or cancels and sets everything up again in spring. Screens and players come on top in both cases.
What easyCMS will not do
No stock counting
You mark a flavour sold out from your phone. Nothing in the freezer tells the board when a tub is empty.
No till, no orders
Prices are set in Studio, not taken from your till. Nobody can order or pay from the screen itself.
No design from scratch
You start from the templates and change the photos, colours and texts yourself. An expert hour is 25€ if you want someone to help.
Questions ice cream shops ask
Can I show 1, 2 and 3 scoop prices once instead of next to every flavour?
Yes. Give each flavour its scoop sizes and prices; the flavour wall shows the prices most flavours share once at the top. You can also write your own line instead, such as “Cone or cup, 1 scoop 2.50”.
Can I use photos of my own ice cream?
Yes. Add a photo to each flavour from your phone. The flavour wall shows it in a circle, the spotlight fills half the screen with it.
Can the board change with the weather?
Yes. A design can play only above or below a temperature, when the sky is clear, or when it rains, at the screen’s location.
What if the internet goes down?
The screens keep playing the last menu they received and pick up your changes when the connection is back.
