Cookie Policy

We use very little. This page lists every cookie and storage item this site creates, what it does, and how to change your choice.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

The short version

This site uses no advertising cookies and no tracking across other websites. We store a small amount of data in your browser to make the basket and the support assistant work, and, only if you agree, we use Google Analytics to count page views.

Cookies and similar technologies

“Cookies” are small files a site stores in your browser. The law treats other browser storage, such as local storage, the same way. Most of what we use is local storage rather than cookies, but the rules and your choices are identical, so everything is listed here.

These make features you asked for work. Under EU rules they do not require consent, and they cannot be switched off without breaking the site.

Name Type What it does How long it lasts
easycms-cart Local storage Remembers what you put in your basket so it survives moving between pages Until you complete an order, empty the basket, or clear your browser data
easycms-consent Local storage Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking Until you clear your browser data

Neither of these is sent to us or to anyone else. They stay in your browser.

The “Ask easyCMS” assistant

If, and only if, you use the optional AI assistant, it stores your conversation in your browser so it is not lost if you navigate away.

Name Type What it does How long it lasts
easycms-assistant-transcript Local storage Keeps the current conversation so you can carry on where you left off Until you clear your browser data
easycms-assistant-image Local storage Holds a photo you attached to your question, so it can be sent with your message Until you clear your browser data

These are stored on your device. Separately, the question you send, and any photo you attach, is transmitted to Google to generate the answer. That is explained in our Privacy Policy.

If you press Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is set and no analytics script loads at all.

Name Type What it does How long it lasts
_ga Cookie (Google) Distinguishes one visitor from another 2 years
_ga_<property-id> Cookie (Google) Keeps track of the current visit 2 years

We run Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled and with Google Consent Mode, so that consent state is respected before any measurement happens. We do not use Analytics for advertising, and we have not enabled ad personalisation or data sharing for advertising purposes.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.

Payment

When you check out you are taken to Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe sets its own cookies on its own pages to process the payment securely and to prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We never see your card details.

How to change your mind

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, it is as easy to reject as it was to accept:

  • Clear your site data for myeasycms.com in your browser. The banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.
  • Or use your browser’s own controls to block or delete cookies for this site. Every major browser lets you do this in its privacy settings.

Blocking the strictly necessary items will stop the basket working, but nothing will break permanently.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not currently respond automatically to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for them. Our default position is that analytics stays off until you actively accept it, which achieves the same result.

Changes

If we add or remove anything that stores data in your browser, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
